Leveson inquiry to hear expert evidence

Bankers and lawyers in the survey brief

as part of its bid to develop new version of the regulatory model after phone-hacking scandal

Two experts in banking and financial services were invited to make presentations to research Leveson in their attempt to reach a new model for regulation of the press since the phone hacking scandal .

Donald Macrae, a lawyer and consultant to advise governments worldwide, is one of six experts to attend a teaching session, October 5 at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Macrae, who has acted as advisor to the Government through nine departments until 2007, the World Bank is currently advising on projects in Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.

It is one of six experts to present evidence on one of three teaching sessions are held prior to the survey launched in October Leveson.

a seminar on the technical aspects of hacking phone was held in private on Monday. A second briefing will be held on September 28, when the investigation is going to listen to Mark Warby QC, a leading silk in the media, entertainment and regulatory law.
